New Connector Straddles the Problem

Cullen Building Product's rolling New Product Development programme, which is aimed at speeding up the construction process and improving health and safety on site, has produced another unique connection detail, the Straddle Clip. The Straddle Clip has been developed to overcome traditional difficulties when fixing perimeter noggings.

On occasion, particularly on narrow width joists, the fitting of conventional Z-clips to support perimeter noggings can split the end of a joist - even when the minimum edge distance of 45mm is observed. While this does not represent a structural failure, it is not ideal.

The Cullen Straddle Clip is a NO-NAIL fixing which eliminates this condition entirely and can be used not only for perimeter noggings, but also non-load bearing partitions. As the Straddle Clip does not require nails it is both user-friendly and quick to install.
