PST Range - Another Innovation from Cullen We, at Cullen, through our dynamic product development programme, have identified various areas where new and improved connectors are required. We were delighted with the response (60%+) to the UZ flyer, so much so that we have decided to launch all new products in a similar fashion. The second innovation we would now like to introduce is the Parallel Strap range. "PART L - ROBUST FLOOR DETAIL" The above heading has sent shockwaves through the industry "What can we do … …?" "What do we do … … ?" Don't worry your problems have just been solved. "Part L", for reasons of air tightness, has now specified that joists should be supported on hangers at both ends. This is great news for hanger manufacturers but it does leave the problem of how to provide a practical restraint connection between the floor and the masonry inner leaf. This connection was historically provided by the joist being built directly into the inner leaf of masonry. We, at Cullen, have now taken the lead in resolving this particular connection problem with a detail which, in our opinion, offers the only practical solution available. We have produced a series of restraint straps, which allow this connection to be quickly and easily carried out without subsequent problems being created on site. We have applied the same commonsense logic to the design of this part as we do with all others: - o quick and simple to install To ensure a practical, economical, robust detail is constructed on site,
specify one of the PS range of restraint straps from Cullen. This is approved
by the NHBC whether your joists are I-Joist, metal web or solid timber.
