2006 Cullen Golf Day

Cullen Building Products, leading connector manufacturer for the timber-engineering sector, held their annual Golf Day on 12th May at Balbirnie Golf and Country Club in Fife. The event was attended by more than sixty industry representatives who had traveled to Fife from across the UK and Ireland. For those non-golfers several outdoor activities were arranged, including motorised and marksman events. These events, which were held at Cluny Clays Outdoor Centre, went down a storm.

Cullen MD Doug Cullen commented:
"We were delighted that so many of our industry partners chose to join us and help make this such a successful day. Good relationships are fundamental to how we do business at Cullen and this event certainly enabled us to strengthen these relationships - and build some new ones."

Winners in both golf and shooting were drawn from across the range of competitors the winning team for the golf tournament consisted of Phil Smith of ASK McGowan, Dave Goode of Gang-Nail Systems, Peter Pawlie of Read Bros and Gordon Cullen of Glenrothes Trading. Whilst Steve Parr, Cullen Northern's branch manager won the outdoor activity tournament.

The Winning Team

Although it was very much a fun day for Cullen customers and partners there was a charity competition, arranged on the golf course, which raised £180 and this was matched by Cullen to raise a total of £360 for Rachel House Hospice.

The day ended with an excellent meal at the Dean Park Hotel followed by a prize ceremony and two very funny speakers. As proof of the great time everyone had during the day you could still hear them in the hotel bar late into the next morning!
