The RA hanger, designed and developed by Glenrothes based Cullen Building Products and its industry partner Timbersolve, is a one-piece folded construction with stiffening ribs that guarantees a qualified safe working load without the need for masonry above. This enables the floor to be used as a safe working platform for accelerated build programmes and eliminates costly, on-site, floor propping. NHBC said: "We are satisfied that RA and RAD hangers can be used to support I-joists and function both as a joist hanger and as a restraint strap when supported on 3.5N/m or higher strength block walls."
