Research Programme pays off for Cullen A commitment to on-going Research & Development by one of the UK's foremost connector manufacturers, Cullen Building Products, (Cullen) is paying dividends. Marketing co-ordinator Jonny Bell said: "Cullen's investment is enabling us to bring new products onto
the market on a regular basis. Last month we launched the innovative Pre-Formed
Strap, and this month we are launching a range of timber frame cavity
wall ties, designed to cope with cavities up to 100mm wide!"
The new range of wall ties will enable developers to standardise on common foundation plans and switch easily between different methods of construction. Cullen's MD Doug Cullen commented: "We try always to be market responsive and we saw the need for a tie which would secure masonry to timber frame structures, whilst providing a maximum of 24mm differential vertical movement. The ties also minimise horizontal cavity movement. I believe this is a real break-through that will help to grow timber frame's market share still further." Mr Cullen added "That's always been our aim - to grow ourselves by helping our partners to grow!" The FT range has been independently load tested and approved to BS EN 845-1 and BS DD 140.
