Boise And Cullen Team Up

Boise Building Products Ltd says it has eliminated the need for web stiffeners or backer blocks by approving Cullen Building Products' Universal and Heavy Universal I-joist hangers for use with its Simple Framing System.

Bicester-based Boise claims the hangers eradicate a "significant problem" when constructing engineered I-joist floors and simplify installation of its BCI-Joists, as well as providing more robust construction details.

Dr Luke Whale, of consultancy TimberSolve, said: "The largest single problem we encounter on site is caused by either absent or improperly fitted backer blocks."
