The first truly innovative Timber Separating Wall Strap has just arrived

One of the major challenges today in Timber Frame construction is how to transfer increased loads across timber separating walls between adjacent dwellings, whilst minimising sound transfer.

Even though our PWS performs just as well as all other products currently on the market, at Cullen we set ourselves the challenge of doubling the structural performance of the connection and radically improving its acoustic insulation and on-site robustness all at the same time!

Our new development team of Cullen, TimberSolve and BPC at Napier University set about the challenge with relish, and have developed the unique AWS (Acoustic Wall Strap).  Not only did we achieve the enhanced structural performance desired, we are delighted to be able to report a significant improvement in sound insulation performance which is multi-compliant with many different acoustic building regulations.

In addition, we have improved the horizontal impact sound insulation performance, which reduces sound transmission from sockets, plugs, switches and noise from cupboard doors closing. This is a key element which developers and clients wanted addressed for future housing plans.

The AWS will be available from September, please don’t hesitate to contact our sales department to discuss your advance order requirements, or our technical department on how this new product can benefit both yourselves and your customers.
